The day that I thought would never come has, and I am still somewhat amazed. Yes, I have purchased a Macintosh, the computer that for years I have railed against, belittled, cursed, and generally despised with all my soul.
“But why?” you ask, and rightly so. Why, indeed? Well, the dirty, honest truth is that I need a Mac for web development work, and as I’m solo now, I’ve got to have one of my own as I don’t have ready access to any other.
The upside is that I bought it on eBay and paid a very good price for it, and it’s decently powerful (for an iMac, anyways)–it’s a 500MHZ Indigo with 192MB of RAM and a 20GB hard drive. Best of all, in my opinion at least, is that it will be coming with OS X–which, from a quickie demo I did of it a few weeks back at CompUSA, is pretty darn nice.
So I’m tentatively excited. Full report to follow, of course 🙂
