LinuxWorld: Part I

So here I am, quite the jetsetting young laddie the past couple of weeks. First it was Stamford, CT, and now it’s San Francisco, CA. Not too shabby.

I’m back here in “The City” for the LinuxWorld Conference and Exposition, the annual geekFest for Linux aficionados and wannabes the world over. I’m super stoked about the whole thing, and am really looking forward to the keynote address tomorrow, as well as checking out all the various vendor booths. My pops is here as well, doing some “feasibility research” into Linux for a project of his own.

The only downside so far is that my Windoze 2k-based laptop (the company machine, of course) refuses to load Windoze–it just hangs on the “Win2k” splash screen. Could it be the overwhelming presence of Linux-based stoke in this great city, causing Windows machines to mysteriously crap out with utter abandon? I wish I had decided to bring the CD-ROM dingleberry with me, because then I could load a proper Linux install and be done with all this silliness. If anyone in the SF area has a Sony Visio CD-ROM dinglethingiee, please look for me at Moscone Convention Center. I’ll be the one with the Tux hat on. Heheh

All for now, more to come. Keep the faith!
